WE, ARE THE CHAMPIONS, OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thoughts? Celebration Posts, like this one?

Wow. This is amazing. I am shocked and so very pleased. And I just read that on Opening Day of 2005, the World Series banner will be raised in Fenway Park, and guess who will be in town to watch? That's right, the Yankees. :)

You know whats funny. The Yankees have won 26 times including 4 times in the past 10 years. Boston has won ONE world series and it took them 86 years. How pathetic.

Good for the Sox. About time they win one. :)

Yeah, and you know what's also pathetic. That the Yankees, supposedly "the best team in baseball" with all it's stars bought with all of George Steinbrenner's money, were three outs away from eliminating the Red Sox, and not only did they blow that game, they were the first team ever in baseball history to blow a 3-0 series lead. They were also the first team to ever allow a Game 7 after having a 3-0 lead. That is pretty pathetic. And you know who has lost twice in a row and three times in the past four years now to a wild-card team? The Yankees. The Sox have earned their way to one World Series title in 86 years. The Yankees have bought their way to 26.

Wait, so while the Yankees lost to some random lucky wild card teams, where were the Redsox? Oh nevermind, they weren't anywhere, they were just sucking.

They actually made the playoffs, alot of those years. I wouldn't call it sucking. And besides, you have no idea how to appreciate a victory when it comes to you. I am a Red Sox and Giants fan. The Giants have not won a Series in 50 years. They have come close a few times. You have no idea how much I would appreciate a Giants victory. And it is Yankees fans like you who don't know when to just call it quits and accept the fact that you lost that make me wish the Giants would beat the Yankees in a Joe Carter-esque style in the bottom of the 9th inning in the Bronx. Of course you probably missed Joe Carter because you were whining about how the George Steinbrenner's bought team didn't come through this year.

right good argument. they yankees losing is random luck. the red sox winning is random luck. aaron effing boone hitting a clutch home run isnt. curt schilling and pedro and lowe dominating is luck. coming back from down 3-0 and winning 8 straight playoff games (an mlb record) is luck. the yankees only needed to win once in four games, but they couldnt. because they suck. the red sox did not trail the cardinals in even one inning in the four game sweep. that is not luck. aaron boone is luck. bucky dent is luck. Sox win. if you want to cry about it go talk to steinbrenner. im sure you two could have a great suck party together.

Yahoo!!!
Though a Toronto fan in the past, I have to admit I've been pulling for Boston lately.
My one observation is that now Boston fans won't have anything special to unite them-- with no curse, they're just another successful team.

the true fans have something to unite us. its called we love the sox. curse or no curse, win or lose, if you are a true sox fan, you will always be a true sox fan.

I can die a happy man.

My father and I were discussing all the chances in the past on Sunday. I remembered watching Bob Gibson in the '67 World Series. Watch Pudge's Game Six homer in '75. I was a plebe and couldn't do a thing when Bucky Dent hit his homer run in '78. I listened to the Bill Buckner play on the radio when I was stationed in Iceland in '86. Then of course '99 and '03 and those &*%$#@ Yankees again.

I am not celebrating tonight. I am just very thankful and the baseball part of my mind is at peace. I was expecting something bad to happen every game. Sometimes things went very badly. ALCS game 3 comes to mind. Manny's two errors in WS game 1.

The Sox played some great baseball. I give thanks :worship: to the baseball gods.

PS - I suppose the NY-Boston rivalry is now a two sided rivalry.

as long as that's the ONLY miracle coming out of Massachusetts this fall..

Lol, DBear, and anyway about the Sox, it was amazing! And to Blindside's comment, true you've won 21 more chamionships, but who cares lol? You last won 4 years ago, us last night.
I thought Foulke should've been MVP. And now they got to worry about off-season.

Thank you Pesky's corner (or whatever it's called) for that ground rule double! Thank you umpires for all the excellent umpiring! Thank you Mariano Rivera for not being one of those pitchers that fall of the mound ten feet! Most of all, thanks to the great play of the Red Sox!

[dance]

I know the pole is Pesky's... ;)

I was wondering if that infamous corner/curve had a special name...

Imagine, all the men and women like Sir Bugsy who have waited their entire lives for this moment, and seen it snatched away at the last second. Not this time, this time, our dreams have been realized. [party] [party]

And to all the starting pitchers...... :worship: :worship: :goodjob:

This Redsox team is going to collapse. Pedros coming to New York and hes getting a haircut.

Add that to an ever-growing list of why I hate the Yankees: Everyone has the same haircut!

EDIT: 2100th post!
