I don't know about the rest of you, but I've thrown my knife into the ring on the tournament. I have France in the first round game Pepperpot, so I'll use this thread to brag (or more likely confess) about my part in the game...

A teammate of mine is playing Turkey in that one - please treat him nicely!

I am Russia in 'Bronze Angel' :mischief:

welcome to the tournament! :goodjob:

I wish I had the time for that tourney, but I assume the deadlines will be fairly tight, calling for some pretty intense negotiations. One regular game at a time is all I should really be playing, and that's where I am at the moment.

Magnus, Please put in a good word for me to him. Besides, Turkey and France are on opposite sides of Europe. I'd have to be doing really well to have a border with him...

I already have. ;)

Thanks. I've had lousy fortunes at the Dip tables lately, and hope that I can't screw up too badly as France. If I can survive, that's some nice points for the Lake Eire Eagles...

Spring 1901 is completed in Pepperpot. England has shown aggression towards France (me), and Germany has made more neutral moves. Russia seems to be gunning for the Turks (at least according to the moves. Publicly he's backpeddling like hell). Italy and Austria seem to have made more standard moves. I chose not to offend any neighbours. I think that may pay dividends in the long run.

So in my game, Spring has these factors:

Germany agrees to move Kiel to Holland (he does this)
Austria asks for a bounce of Galicia (we do this)
Turkey says he is moving to CON with his fleet and ANK with his army and I am assumed to move to RUM with the fleet and leave SEV open

now half the board tells me his moving to BLA, so I order to BLA to protect myself, but to be peaceable, I don't move MOS to SEV, but to UKR, well not only does he move to BLA he also moves to ARM! He gives me some BS answer, but in my mind I can understand the bounce (hey I did it too), but the move to ARM is pure aggression. But I am a practical sort, and I figure we can try to work something out in Fall.

so in fall, he says he is moving to CON with his fleet (again) and ARM will move to ANK and he will order BUL S F SEV - RUM. Well of course I tell him I will be moving to BLA so he better bounce it, but where I trick him, he thinks UKR will go to RUM, which could end up letting him walk into SEV from ARM if he allows me into BLA, which is exactly what he does! But since I am wise to his treachery, I move UKR - SEV which bounce ARM, he ends up in RUM with BUL open. Meanwhile Austria gets 2 builds, taking SER & Greece. Luckily I gain Sweden so I get that all important build.

So winter is coming and he begs me not to buld in SEV and says he will build F SMY. well since I have nothing even pretending to defend the North, my best option to play it safe is to build A MOS that way I can go either way. So he copies me on his build to the GM (which of course I give no merit to) stating F SMY and then (predictably) he builds F ANK, so he has lied at every single moment in the game and every move he has done has been as anti-Russian as it can get. Its so bad, I almost feel it is personal. Anyway, here is the current map after builds.

so-so, he asked me not to move to Galicia in Fall because he wasn't going to be covering it, but I told him I needed to put pressure on Rumania so he knew I was going to do it, the idea being I would only be using the province for transit.

Pepperpot, Fall 1901.

English Did move on Belgium as they promised, not Brest as Germany said they would. There is room to co-operate as long as they are willing to vacate the English Channel in a timely fashion.

Germany, on the other hand, Blocked Russia out of Sweeden then moved Ruhr to Burgundy! This means that they have to die...

I know that Turkey is Magnus's Teammate, so I can't say too much, but Russia likely is not happy with Germany, may have a previously PO'ed Sultan, and Austria who's playing his cards close to the vest, along with an England that has been unpredictable thus far...

I don't think England had cooperation on his mind when he built that fleet in Liverpool, Monsieur. My guess is he went for Belgium to put your mind at ease before the Winter builds.

Gnarfflinger, I can't really comment on Pepperpot because I have a teammate in it, although if I was looking at it objectively, I can see a lot of what appears to be going on.

So it turns out in my game, Turkey actually did order F Smyrna build, but the GM got it wrong (he also put my army in Warsaw initially, much to my alarm) so finally the Turk did follow through with something, but I am proceeding with extreme caution on anything that comes from him!

Well, Spring 1902 should tell me if there is an E-G alliance or not...

There was an E-G, but now Germany has relieved England of Belgium. Germany wants an uneasy truce (basically I put up a line that wouldn't break without England getting three out of five centres), and England wants me to turn on Germany. Meanwhile, I had misjudged a deadline and missed a retreat (GM's ruling is disbanded), so I might be falling apart anyway...

I did, and this last turn made it official as Italy ended up with Mar, Spain and Paris, while England got Portugul and Brest. I really think that Italy should stab England soon, and may sneak out a solo...

Nice going Mags!

Yeah, I'm going to try to keep a free enough schedule next fall to play in PG7. It starts in September, no?
