I am trying to learn modding but Civ4 and BTS were not in my program files. I found the file location using the shortcut properties target. So I thought it would be a good idea to re-install both to get them in the right place. Oh how I forgot the hell I went through getting Civ4 to work when I upgraded to Vista. Basically it installed without a glitch but when I try to launch it stops working. It literally says "this program has stopped working". So I have a few questions to kick my memory in the rear end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do I have to reinstall the DirectX9? I don't know if it is saved to my computer generally or did I delete it when I uninstalled Civ? If so where do I save it to?
Should I patch Civ4 vanilla? Will it help?
Could installing BTS solve my problem? I don't play vanilla anymore anyway?
