Reliable Hard Disk Drive

Hmm, Can Vista handle a Solid-State Drive? Also, I'm more concerned in regards to cost. Would a 1TB SSD be more pricyer? (I'm only going with one storage drive for now)
:faint:
That's been fixed, but the recent record isn't too great on the whole. Consider also the Apple Macbooks with failure Seagate hard drives. As far as I'm aware, neither Hitachi, nor Western Digital, nor Samsung has had recent issues such as Seagate has. None of them are bad choices, and they all have 1TB or larger drives available.
that article is from 2007 so...

The new Western Digital Raptor 600GB 10,000 RPM is pretty good value for it's speed/price/capacity ratio.

For reliability & speed you could get a 64GB SSD for your Operating System and a 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 or Western Digital Caviar Black for storage.

hehe, for my gaming rig I only need a 128GB SSD for it to have the contents and some space

The Velociraptor is kinda obsolete now that SSD's are fairly widely available. I could get a 60GB SSD + 1TB of storage for the same price as a VelociRaptor, and it would be faster for most of my tasks.
