Religion Not Founded w/ Free Oracle Tech

OK, has happened in 2 games with 2 different techs. Haven't seen it posted yet.

#1 Finished construction of Oracle.
#2 Chose religion founding tech
#3 Religion not founded, nor does it apparently _ever_get founded

This has happened to me for both Confucianism and Taoism, I assume it would be the same for other religions.

I had this same problem, or so I thought. I ended the turn anyway, and the very next turn I founded the religion. I don't know if the 1-turn delay is always there, or if indeed you did play even further into the game while still not founding the religion, but that's been my one experience with it thus far.

I had a similar problem as well. I used a Great Prophet to gain Theology and found Christianity and it worked fine. I got another Great Prophet later, so I used him to gain Divine Right and found Islam, only this time the Prophet disappeared as before, but then nothing actually happened, with no screen to show I'd discovered Divine Right, nada. I even waited a turn and tech still didn't show as gained on my tech tree and on the religion tab it still didn't show Islam yet. Had to back the game up a turn and used my Prophet to help start a Golden Age instead.

The great prophets don't always completely discover a tech. For the higher ones like Divine Right and Theology they only give you about half the research points you need, so there is still research to be done to gain the tech. Maybe that is it.

Oh, my bad. You're totally correct and I'm wrong. I just reloaded the game and it does give me 1632 of the 1950 needed for the Divine Right tech and it also does say that is what it will do when cursoring over the light bulb icon. I had it just grant the tech before and clicked on the icon again without fully reading the text. Thanks-
