Maybe a Minecraft or Terraria mod or what-not. There is a RPG mod for Terraria that I follow, so that might be a base for a Majesty-type mod.
The main problem I have with Majesty is that it's a pretty shallow game with very little interaction other then you feel like a town banker---taking money in and loaning it out again to support a new small business. A real-time-tactical game with a RPG leveling system to it's units has more depth than Majesty. At any rate, the game Towns is probably what you want.
