Does anyone know how to make your cities keep producing the previously-produced unit, like the user option in Civ 3?

In the "Hints"-List of the Civilopedia it says:
"Hold down the [ALT]-Key to build an item indefinately."
Never tried it though

cool, I kept meaning to look this up, but I was too lazy. I like it this way like civ2.
When I have my heroic epic, west point, academy city building tanks, I want it to keep building tanks.

holding Alt down when I select a unit to build doesnt seem to be doing it, unless of course im not holding the Alt key down properly...

Pretty sure that works - go into the city screen, alt-click it into the queue and it stops prompting, IIRC.
