Does wandering through your friends territory hurt your reputation even if you leave when they force you to?

Is there anyway to help your reputation? I have a really good game goingn but I had to break a few treaties to get the strategic resources I needed.

Its funny you mention this, but the AI has the memory of an elephant. It never forgets. Dont worry though, but the time you reach the 1800's your diplomatic advisor will tell you that EVERYONE is an untrustworthy liar who has betrayed X Y times.

Firaxis says time heals reputation, but I dont believe it.

What I want to know is destroying 1 pop cities the same as razing them? You don't get the option to keep it.
The Germans declared war on me, must have had one too many schnapps, and I promptly took 4 of their cities. They had them up in the tundra at the top of my continent in those 1 square gaps that suddenly become a lot bigger. I hate the way the AI does that and I think it knows. However they were all 1 pop cities and they were destroyed. Now my rep has plummeted from everyone loving me except the Aztecs, who lost a whole bunch of wars :midfinger , and the Russians, dead by my own hand :slay: .
Even the Chinese who are also at war with Germany are annoyed. I allied with them to kill the Russians, and might try again against the Germans, the war is one turn old. Had to stop there or I would have been up all night.
I have active trades with everyone except the Germans and trade everything often even going so far as to lower their offers some lately in an effort to make them really love me. Only by 1/turn but it makes a difference and so does the 1 gold gift.
But now I am attacked and I won so I'm the bad guy???
Also where can you find out your actual approval rating?
