It seems to me that the one of the most important parts of the game is the first 50 - 100 or so turns.

Therefore, I respectfully request that some of the more experienced players do a walkthru of the first 50 - 100 turns assuming that the difficulty level is set higher than Noble.

Of course ideas will vary on this but I would be very interested in some feedback.

I got my first victory on Noble yesterday (space race, tiny map, 3 rival civs, normal speed, Queen Vic of England, financial & expansionist, no barbs) and wish to try on harder levels. I feel that my early game play needs some tutoring.

Why? Surely the most fun is figuring this stuff out for yourself! IF you are going to be told how to play the game by someone else you might as well just throw the game away and play something else. Ive never understood people wanting cheats and walkthroughs! Seems completely pointless to me.

Well, to each his own. Personally I'm with you, I even stay clear of the strategy forum because I find it much more fun to find out things by myself. :)

Hey Nigel,

I don't think I will throw the game away. Actually I am enjoying it. Do you have anything positive to add???

If I am interested in how good players start their games then what is the problem dude?

Chess masters all follow pretty standard opening moves, should they follow your advice (critisism), I think not.

I NEVER use walkthroughs for any game except when I get stuck in an RPG. Why use a strategy guide/ walkthorugh. Might as well read a real book.

I wouldn't consider me a as good player ( more medium, win on prince 1/3 of my games) - but I think there is no "work allways" strategy for the first 50 - 100 turns. It depends where you start, what ressources are around, whats your civ ( traits and starting techs ) and have you an early UU - are other civs close to you, or are they far away , mabe you are isolated on an island ?

And if there are other civs you have as close neighbours - are they more peacefully, are is there somewhere Montezuma around ?

So I guess there is not really a walktrough - and for me I like it if the best strategy depends on your situation.

And additionally I don't think that the first 50 - 100 turns decide the game allways - just yesterday I won a game where I had only space for building 2 cities , then I was allready encircled by two other civs - thought I was screwed, but managed it somehow to expand my empire in midgame by conquest when the oppertunity was good ( one of my neighbours attackted an other civ, and while his troops are busy, I invaded his country :D )
