Hi! I would like to request a mod for a Philippines civilization.
My mod request is not about graphics (existing assets can be reused).

Anyway, below are the details I came up with:

Civ Trait: Pearl of the Orient Seas
Foreign trade routes going to and from the Philippines provide +1 production and +1 food to the other civilization while the Philippines gets +1 Culture, +1 Science, +1 Religion and +1 Gold.

Unique Unit: Bataan Soldier
60 Melee Strength
300 Production 3 gold maintenance
Automatically has +4 Defensive strength and +2 turns fortification even after moving.
Stacks with fort.
Available on Industrial Era, unlocked by Nationalism
Replaces Infantry

Unique Building: Sentro ng Siudad
100 Production cost
Replaces the monument.
+1 Culture (If you do not have a cultural district in the city)
+1 Science (If you do not have a science district in the city)
+1 Religion (If you do not have a religious district in the city)
+1 Amenities (If you do not have an entertainment district in the city)
------------
Leader: Jose Rizal
"Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo"
+1 great people production while at peace.
+10 combat strength to all your units near your cities while at war.

Probably reuse the Spanish assets for anything not mentioned. Reuse Monument asset for Sentro ng Siudad, and reuse Infantry asset for Bataan Soldier. Reuse Philip 2 as leader assets.

Reuse of assets is recommended because I know it's hard enough as it is to make mods, without adding graphics.

I am not sure if this is overpowered or not, but this is just an idea I had.

Alternative suggestion for Philippine civ:

Civ trait: Filipino diaspora - Every 5 Population generates +2 culture, +1 gold and +1 tourism. Every trade routes produce additional +1 gold. Philippines cannot build Culture district.

Historical basis: Filipino diaspora is considered one of the largest diasporas in the world. Filipino immigrants and workers contribute to the worldwide recognition of the Filipino culture. In modern times, Filipinos are known in entertainment and sports (theatre arts, boxing, beauty pageants), as well as Filipino ingenuity (Filipino cuisines in San Francisco and New York, fashion styles, indie films) and Filipino identities (Bayanihan, or communal unity / cooperation, resilience in times of calamities, Overseas Filipino Workers are known as the modern heroes)

Leader: Manuel L. Quezon
Leader ability: Father of Filipino Language - Produces +3 culture for every city-state suzerain.

Agenda: Likes civs with low culture and does not compete for CS suzerainty
Dislikes civs with high culture and competes for CS suzerainty

Unique Unit: Bataan Soldier (see above)

I think having no culture district will effectively stop this civ from winning via tourism! Can we really just rely on seaside resorts?

I think that remains to be seen. I would like to imagine having a civ similar to Kongo (Kongo not able to found religion and build holy districts). Given culture victory does not only rely on great works (since we have National Parks, Seaside Resorts, Pantheon generating culture, etc) -- I think this will make an interesting challenge.

Negative UU and UB, UA requires foreign trade routes which can hardly gain?

I hope I don't get in trouble for citing history.

The unique unit shows the resilience of the world war 2 filipino soldiers, which enabled them to delay getting conquered by japan, and bought time for the allied forces to prepare a counter attack.

The unique building replaces the monument and is good at the start, and is designed to not be overpowered (by having too many bonuses). I patterned it to how the city hall / multi-purpose hall in provinces had to be reused for all sorts of functions to save costs.

The unique ability is based on the time when manila was a great sea trade route based on location. I kind of patterned it with Egypt's unique ability as I wanted to make it easy to make. There has to be incentives for other civs to have a trade route with the philippines, so food and production is provided to them.

Give Manuel L Quezon +1 tourism for every city state you are a suzerain of, and it might make it a bit more viable.
