Researching Monarchy on MesoAmerica scenario.

I only just noticed that in a single player I am playing ATM, that it is tking a long time to research Monarchy. I recently played a PBEM and it did not take as long as it is now. I have the science slider to 80% and it still is taking 40 turn to research it, but in the PBEM, it took about 8 turns. Is this a bug that is known, or is it a new one.

Perhaps you are a victim of the World Size bug?

Before you start a game on Mesoamerica, if the last game you played was on a huge map, it'll use the OCN and corruption settings and tech costs of that game, which drastically increases tech research times. So before you start a Mesoamerica Conquest game, click 'new game' and just make a start on a standard map (no need to play it). Then, load up the Conquest, so the OCN and tech costs are right.
