OK, this is probably a stupid question, so bear with me here.
I don't have Civ4 yet (but I do intend to get it, provided that I have anything left in my bank account after bills
), so I don't know how the files are arranged. If you know me from the Civ3 creation and customization forum, then you'd know that I'm primarily a 2d person, meaning that I can't tell the difference between "editable meshes" and mashed potatoes.
However, I have read from some of the modders here that the skins and textures of units will be editable, provided that one has a DDS converter (which I do
). Now my question is that if the skins for units can be altered by converting the file to be useable for paint programs and then converted back into the original file format, can the same thing be done for building graphics as well?
If that is the case, then I can get to making new city graphics right away once I get my paws on Civ4.
