I think that it is ridiculous that if you cut down a jungle square that will contain rubber someday, that 2000 years later there is still rubber in that spot. That would make rampant destruction of forests less occuring. Same with furs, and spices, and dyes,etc. Also, if a city is built over some resources, the resource is destroyed or somehow affected. Like, if you build a city over Wines, how are you still growing the grapes? You cant grow grapes in a megalopolous with 12,000,000 people in it.
Also, after the tech of Ecology, there are protests by your citizens over clearing forests/jungles, and when pollution appears. Happiness might decrease in nearby cities.
