ive been playing a while and have the latest patch which made the game run a million times better. except one problem:

my culture has taken over the resources of another civ, but i dont see it in my resources list. i cant trade them and i dont get its benefits.
but it doesnt ignore the resource all the time, it only occurs sometimes. i never noticed the problem before the new patch, so it may or may not have been occuring then too.

my case pertains to 2 fur resources. i overtook them with my culture. i own the territory by 90%, but i dont get the fur. i tried pillaging one of the camps and rebuilding it with my own worker but nothing came of that. it doesnt show fur in my city resource screen or in the resource (foreign) advisor screen.

any advise, explanation is appreciated.
Shawn.

Furs go obsolete with the invention of plastics, and so won't have any effect if you take them over after that point. Would this fit?

i guess, but they should still be in my list of resources. like marble and stone are. plus, dont you get a happy face regardless of wether they go obsolete or not.

i think its just a freak glitch. kinda horsehockey though.

No furs, should be removed once from the list when they're obsolete, and no you won't get happy faces from them once they're obsolete. Stone and marble don't go obsolete, so they will always be on the list. Furs, Ivory and whales are the only resources that go obsolete.

If this is after you've invented plastics then the game is working correctly.

I've had the same problem intermittantly since I first purchased the game. I have since installed all patches as they became available and also Warlords. Thanks to the skilled users on this website, I now actually have no other technical issues at all when running the game, but yet this occurs every so often (sometimes with major gameplay consequences)

The only common link I can think to each time I had the problem (and I've had it with almost any resource that I had access to more than one of) is that it is always during war, and the resource it occurs with was usually pillaged. i.e. I have 3 cows; one cow is pillaged and they all (or some) stop appearing in the city window.

Win XP SP2
Pentium 4
Nvidia GEForce 6200
