Maybe my playstyle just doesn't fit Rhye's and Falls that well, or then it's because i still can't play it. Anyways, my economy just doesn't go up no matter what i do and it basically shatters my whole game. Currently it was in -38 and unstable as i was, my capital city's soldiers flipped for Germany! I hear Rhye's takes production and agriculture (aside commerce) into account and my playstyle is usually quite much production-based, so i thought this would actually be easier for me than the regular BTS! But no.

Any magic tricks for getting economy on track?

PS.It's funny that looking at demographics-screen, i'm number one on GNP!

Thanks I'll check it out. Most likely i have too large population per commerce but let's see. AWESOME mod, one of the best computer games i've ever played, period.

(I'd like to make a more accurate "Scandinavia to Finland"-terrain though, resources are ok).

Rhye, is it on any way possible to start PLAYING with Vikings already at 3000BC ?? Or is the game coded so that they must first appear by 500AD? I'd play the antiquity world with them with wonders & stuff...

To Rhye,
I think i figured it out, i use Great Lighthouse and Artemis with great trade income so that i can concentrate on production in my cities early in the game. Have you left out trade route income from commerce in the game, considering STABILITY issues? For example low gold/production gets a minus and amount of gold/population. That would be the reason i'm all alone on top of GNP on demographics screen. And still am considered sucking big time on economy on stability screen.

Not possible to start playing with the vikings in 3000 BC.

What you can do though, is start playing with, like, the babylonians, and after that switch to the vikings.

If you want some more infos, do not hesitate to visit the RFC subforum :)

As JujuLautre said, if waiting is the problem, then just play as another civ then switch.

If you are wanting to try playing earlier just to see what would happen, the starting dates can be changed in consts.py. For balancing, you should also change starting techs/units in RiseAndFall.py. I heard somewhere that someone had started Maya in 3000BC and let an AI play it without removing starting techs. The result was Maya circumnavigating the globe before Rome spawned.:crazyeye:

You can start with any civ you like in either time period if you download the unlocked version of the scenario files (this was done so you could select the USA at the beginning instead of being required to play another Civ and switch). The main reason why they limited who could start in which time period was to keep loading times low for the official Firaxis release.

I don't have a link for it (I downloaded it a long time ago), but you can find it over in the Download Database.
