[RIP] My AIM Screen Name

That sucks man. I hate it when original screennames are taken, or even worse, destroyed.

Is this thread for sharing sns? My screenname is InDruggachusetts, BTW.

Damn, why'd you have to choose that?! Now I have to settle for InDruggachusetts56!

;)

My advice:

If you ever want a screenname you can take with you to multiple places never make it a simple one like Azadre. I tried andrewgp and andrewrv for my screenname but both had been taken on certain sites, so I went with andrewgprv, proved to be complex enough that i can use it for everything.

Azadre was lost not because someone signed up for it, but because I managed to convert it to an AOL account from an AIM/Netscape Network account. I am both pissed and saddened.

Sadly, AOL has set it up so once an AIM name gets associated with AOL there is no way to reverse it...:(

Yeah AOL sucks. I have it as my ISP. :ack: Been trying to convince my tech dead father that a local DSL company is better then AOL.

I've only had trouble getting "Gogf" twice. Once was my fault at CDG, and Elucidus kindly fixed this, the other was on AIM.

Well, it was something I came up with when we had to make word problems that we all had to solve at school. I picked "Gogf" because I knew it would be almost impossible to pronounce. After some years though, I can say it quickly, and easily ;).

I never did figure out how to pronounce your name.

Okay, you say "Gog" (like "goggle") and then "f" (like in "fan"). I know that sounds obvious, but trying "Gogf" doesn't work. Trust me, I know ;). Once you say "Gog""f" enough, you get the hang of it ;).

I always just pronounced it "Gog-uf"
