"Ripped From The Headlines" Mod suggestion

I enjoy Civ tremendously, but I'm getting a bit tired of firing nukes at Hammurabi ,Alexander, Caesar, Gengis Khan and the Incas.

Had I the talent to mod, one night of watching the news would give me enough to make "the mother of all Civ mods". I don't know if eveyone is intentionally trying to avoid todays issues but with all the trouble in the world, there are matters that I would like to attend to.
I will clarify my own position first. I think politicians are either, ruthless, hypocritical, narcissisitic and that they can only even achieve this IF they have the advantage of a brain. Religion, and I mean ALL religions are a basis for good but are consistantly misused, misquoted and molded to serve the selfish misdirected goals of those who thirst for power who desire to manipulate and control the behavior of the masses.
I would like to see a mod that reflects the problems of our time.
The whole world is in conflict either politically or religiously; I don't care what beliefs you hold or your political position, color or country. there are good people in all of these, unfortunately they never get the voice.
Could someone update the Civ to todays issues.
1. United States: leaders- King Bush the Inarticulate or JFK or Clinton.
2. Great Britain: Tony Blair or M. Thatcher.
3. France: Chirac or some other French dude
4. Iraq : Hussein
5. Iran: Allah Achbar or an Iatollah
6. Israel: Shiron, Netenyahu, etc.
7. Palestine: Arafat or whomever is president of the month
8. Syria: Haffez Al-Assad and his whole family.
9. Egypt: No, not Cleopatra, but Hosny Mubarak or Sadat
10.North Korea: That little jerk
11. China: Hu Jintao
12.Japan: Junichiro Koizumi
13. Russia: Putan
Anyway you get the idea. Terrorism should play a big roll as well as religious fanatasicm. I see a great deal of strategy on the diplomatic as well as miltary fronts.
Just some rough ideas.

I prefer not to have living people portratyed in a game like Civ, first we are too close (mentaly) to modern individuals to judge their greatness in a Historic sense, most people vastly over-estimate the importance/greatness of the current/resent figures. Atleast a generation must go by before a realistic view is possible so people like Kennedy we can judge better then Clinton or Bush. Its quite likley all the resent leaders you listed will be forgoten in a hundread years.

Of the ones you mentioned...

US - Lincoln is next obvious choice before anyone more resent
Britain - Thatcher is better choice then Blair
France - DuGaul makes more sense to complete WWII leader-set
Iraq - Iraq isn't even in the game yet, Babaylon is better/older
Isreal - again far too resent to be judged, anchient leaders are preferable
Palestine - Civ hasn't been done yet and its quite arguable if it should be included, if it was Arafat is the only logical leader
Syria - a very resent (post WWII) state carved out by Brits, Lebanon which has thousands of years of history is better choice
Egypt - still lots of good Pharoahs like Akinatin, Sadat might be ok though
North Korea - this nation is only ~50 years old and is clearly broken off of the Korean "civilization"
China - I belive that guys only been running China for a few years, that Deng Xiaoping would be a better choice
Japan - Emperor Hirohito (again for WWII senarios)
Russia - I'd Prefer Krustchof or Lenin
