Rock Band!

I just picked this up today. I've been waiting to it forever but had to wait until now to get it because I decided to put other stuff ahead of a game.

So far it's pretty good. I wanted it mostly for the drums. For someone like myself who has never played drums before it's pretty challenging on the easiest level. I still get thrown off a bit when they start mixing up the beat the same time the bass drum start kicking in more often.

I tried 3 songs on the microphone. In Bloom by Nirvana. Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones and Should I stay or should I go by the Clash. I thought I did pretty good on In Bloom because Cobain keeps his voice decently monotone throughout and alright on BB. I sucked at SISOSIG, however. I'm not tone deaf, I can tell I suck.

Guitar is nice but i've only played it a bit. I let my son play it mostly (he's 4 1/2). It's the only thing he can play decently and I hate to leave him out of the fun. I await and dread the upcoming Metallica songs.

As you can hear from the last one the drums click loud. That's my next project. Finding a way to make them quieter so I can hear the song.

Definitely turn up the volume at the very least. I have the same problem with controller noises in GH3--it gets in the way of the beat and messes me up on fast sections.

Rock Band is definitely meant to be played with other real people, though. If you're gonna go drums, be warned--you're the centerpiece. If you lose the beat, you're gonna screw everybody else up.

Rock Band, fun stuff. I have a friend who has it, and we always go to his house to play it. I usually get stuck with vocals or bass, depending on if our drummer is willing to admit he's very poor at drumming and try something else.

That's what I prefer about GH3--when I get on stage, I get a lead singer, bass player, and skinsmaster who actually know what the bloody hell they're doing.

I'm a terrible singer, but Sabatoge on Expert is locked up for me. I'm up to hard on Guitar. Drums is my problem. When I first got it, I had trouble with drums, but I could get through songs. Not anymore. It's weird.
