Anyone here pick up the Scarface video game?

A lot of gamers and professional reviews have bashed or labled the game as a GTA clone but they couldn't be farther from the truth.

In your role as Tony Montana you call the shots. You're not working for some chump running errands for him like some Tommy Vercetti.

There is a fast paced story but in addition so many little side missions that are tackled in a unique way. I like buying 20keys of coke in the islands and trying to smuggle it back to Miami.

doesn't the game start right before he dies?

Yes that's right only he doesn't die. You are given the chance to see what would have happened if Tony survived the attempt on his life by Sosa.

Really now? I personally thought it did look like a Vice City clone but from what you've described it sounds like a lot more.

May I ask; 1) Is there like a GTA style car radio that blares era music 2a) is the gameplay freeform 2b) how big is the terrain and 3) are there lots of random things to do like in later GTA's?

Yeah it's definately different from Vice City.

Here are the answers to your questions....

1. There's definately a car radio that blares the music from the period, and you can listen to the music anytime you want! You don't have to be in a car or other vehicle to hear the music. You can also completely shut off the music if you want to enjoy the ambient sounds of the game. As you progress in the game more music gets unlocked as well.

2a. If I understand you correctly then yes. You can do the story anytime you want or you can simply wander around any area of the map and do what you like. The whole map is unlocked but certain activities that can be performed in different parts of the map are locked until you advance the story a little. So for example after a certain point in the game you can hire a driver and an enforcer and play as those characters and each has his own set of missions.

2b. I'd say that this game is slightly bigger than GTA:Vice Ciy but definately smaller than GTA:San Andreas. For me the size if big enough to keep me from getting bored but not so huge that you feel lost and unsure of where to begin.

3. See 2a above for one example. Some of the other stuff is picking up some designated chicks and adding them to your collection back at your mansion. You can decorate your mansion with a bunch of purchaseable items to increase your reputation and status. You can permanently buy boats and cars to add to your collection to use whenever you want. You can gamble at any establishment that has slots machines or poker tables etc. anytime you want. You can enter car races at various locations in the city. The feature I like a lot is when you unlock a set of missions where you travel to "the islands" (which is a separate map altogether) and buy large amounts of white powder and try to smuggle it back to Miami. Then you go on distribution runs where depending on how many fronts you own you can make as much as 2 -3 million dollars in a single run! Plus there is plenty of items you can use your money to purchase.

my brother in law is playing and he said if you shoot one area of a drive in movie screen three times, tony's sister's ghost appears
