Is there a place (or is this it) where I can request scenarios?

Also does anyone make regular scenarios anymore, with original UNIT and RULES?

well why don't you make the scenario yourself? :) there's not many scenarios out there with original units and sounds but there are some in the download section.

btw what scenario do you wanna request? :)

dunno, something clean and fresh. That impliments the tacics or guerilla warfare aspect of the game.

Why don't you do it for me?

well I'm not that experiensed in scenario making. and I'm not good with coming up with scenario ideas... that's why..

Huh? By my rough estimate there are hundreds of Civ 2 scenarios featuring new units and/or sounds.

There is no emoticon for the confusion I'm feeling right now!

How about a Spiderman scenario? We could even have gorrillas in it!...hehehe

Maybe for something fresh...you might try an Ancient scenario or a Fantasy scenario...

Moria: A Journey in the Dark is a scenario by Favoured Flight and it is super fantabulous (I don't think its a word but it fits).

Also Dictator II is out by Enemy Ace!

Two awesome scenarios...and Memorial Weekend is here for us to play!

You can also have a lot of fun building your own scenario...there are plenty of units and ideas out there...but we can certainly make this a thread for requests...

No I want scenarios without new units. Like the Rome one.

He said he wanted scenarios with original uits and rules etc. ;) you must have read it wrong.. :D

So is there any specific scenario you would like to request then? :)

There are a few scenarios out there using no new units or rules that are actually worth playing. These are:

1640.scn
1861.scn
20thcent.scn
20th.scn
wwiijap.scn

These are my favourites from the days before I got FW and MGE ;) I think you can download most if not all from the Apolyton archives.

Yes,

Try some of the earlier scenarios back in the days before there were any new one...seems to me that I have played an old one some time ago about a post nuclear world that was pretty good.

Many of the ones in the Best of the Net series didn't change rules or units that much (perhaps one unit, otherwise it's just a map change).

Cool, yeah couldn't find them, but I subsituted the scn with zip and it seems to work. (I'm smart) But these still have modified rules.

I'm courious, why do you guys prefer scenarios with new or modified units? Does it provide a challenge?

Well Mayhem,

Scenarios are meant to help us imagine a situation of conflict...kind of like a story. New units and rules do challenge us because we are not familar with them.

A good scenario isn't one you win the first time you play it-- in fact loosing the scenario once or twice makes me want to beat it!

Playing a scenario without units or rules changes is really just playing a regular civ game starting from the middle of a game.

In addition to what John said, the endless possibilities of units and rules changes, as you put it, Mayhem, keep the game interesting. Sure, it is interesting to play scenarios that provide only new situations within the original game-for a while. Then they get boring. Always the same units, always the same stuff. The fact that each new scenario comes with entirely new stuff makes this scenario so very interesting. By now, most new scenarios work like entirely new games within Civ2. This is one of the most important reasons why the game actually survived so long, and perhaps will survive for a while.

I myself can also state that the goal to provide new units and new rules with new scenarios also offers a great challenge for designers, to create something that is always new and always fastiduous in its ways.

Yeah, I took 'original units and rules' to mean new ones instead of the original units and rules ;)
