Scenario Version Invalid! ????

Thanks kobayashi, but im playing CivIII... I should have said taht before...

Anyway...

Ok I did a little experimenting... I'm trying to find out where and what i did wrong...

First I went into the editer, loaded the basic mod and changed the marine units attack rating by 1... I saved and tried to run the senario... No luck...

So then I downloaded Plutarck's LWC Mod... Installed and ran it... It worked fine...

Went back into the editor again altered the marine attack by one... Saved and tried to run the scenario... Again no luck...

Only thing i can think of doing is uninstalling everyting, defraging, and reinstalling...

Uninstalled the game, Deleted the Infogrames folder, Defraged my HD, and attempted to reinstall... Now i cant reinstall...

Popped the cd in the drive and install is not an option, but reinstall is... After selecting the reinstall option it attempts to delete the civilization3.exe, that is no longer there... It 'finishes' this pre-intall prep, and then shuts down... The 'install' never takes place... I really don't know what to do, because i cant even install the program...

I've tried running the 'setup' file directly from the cd, bypassing the autorun file... This brings be to the above mentioned options screen... I cannot find a way to install the game...

it sounds like Civ left some things in the registry after you uninstalled the game.

Run a search in regedit to find anything that has to do with Civ.
But then again, i could be wrong.

Thats what the official website said to do, and i did that... That did get me the correct spash screen for the install, but install still did not work... So i restored my registry to the day before I installed CivIII... CivIII has installed like a champ :king: ... However, I now get random emails from my email archive on my desktop everytime I boot up... So Iv'e traded one problem for another... I see in my future a hard disk format very soon...

You most likely used an incorrect editor that followed 1.17f (there shall be a correct version somwere on this site) (Check the mainpage, and the news item about the patch).
