Will this work with Vinegar (acetic acid)?

Has to be a strong acid. And I don't think even concentrated acetic acid will react with metals strongly enough to produce hydrogen gas in appreciable amounts.

Get a large bottle of coke, preferably the sturdy variety that happens not to be on sale in the US. Open it, drink a few sips. Now shake it tiny bit so that the CO2 gasses out and a bit of foam forms. Close the bottle by pressing your palm (a fleshy spot, e.g. the thumb base) on the opening, closing it off. You can feel the increase in pressure in the air part of the bubble, and you can see that the volume of foam goes down because of that. Release the gas, and the foam comes back up. Nice demo of gas dissolution in liquids and outgassing, and basics on membrane (bubble wall) susceptibility to pressure.
