1.What does the increase of output of science of a scientific leader do?
Does it increase the cities science per a certain percent forever or does it just decrease the number of turns of the cureent tech being researched?

2. Is there a way to get a lot of scientific? Thanks

I dont think that the scientific increase from leaders does anything at all - a known bug.
It is *supposed* to increase (i think double) the cities output of science for a set number of turns (20?) after which it reverts to normal again. Mind you it doesnt work so dont use it.

Im not sure I understand your second question.

Re: #2, if you mean a lot of SGLs, then what you want to do is play a scientific civ. You get a 5% chance instead of the normal 3%. And yes, there is a chance when receiving 'free' techs from ToE and Philosphy.

The scientific increase is bugged ? I remember choosing it and seeing my number of turns per tech decrease... Note that I almost never choose the increase, it's just that in that game all the wonders were built :D

The Scientific Golden Age is bugged. It is *supposed* to increase science output by 25%, IIRC. What happens is that although the number of turns shows a decrease, the number doesn't stay constant, and having one turn left doesn't really mean you'll get the tech the next turn.

If all wonders were built thus far, you could have saved him for an upcoming wonder (though that would prevent you from getting a MGL while he's around), or you could simply rush a factory or something of the like.

Ive had an SGL and an MGL at the same time. I think they are independant.

Nope. If you have a MGL, then you can still get a SGL. But if you have a SGL, then you can not get a MGL. If you have a MGL, then you can not get another MGL. Although if you have a SGL, you can still get another SGL :)
Sesn is right.

I did not say "thus far". I said "All wonders were built". ;)

So it makes alot of sense to store them up for wonders you want to build later provided you dont need MGLs!

Phal - Until very recently, I thought the same thing. But Arathorn, citing Alexman, two of the more respected players on the site, showed me my errors.

It would seem that, although you can get a SGL at any time, the presence of any leader will prevent a MGL from appearing.

Basically what Gainy Bo said. :p

That's what I do, but only once I have already gotten a MGL. I don't want to miss the chance of build the heroic epic and so on.

However, since I tend do do massive warmongering only after I got my cavs, I pile my ancient age SGL (if I got them, of course) and wait for Great Wonder's sweet spot : the early Middle Age :D
