When I start a new game I immidiately open the Worldbuilder to see if the landscape is of size/shape that I'm happy with. I don't move or add anything.

I'm just wondering if the game subtracts points from your final score if you open the Worldbuilder? :)

I too would like to know this. I have on the odd occasion entered the WB in games, just to see exactly how big the AI has managed to grow by throwing such large SoD's early in the game.

I tend to reload an autosave just in case it does effect the score if I decide to continue. (I've done this only in a handful of games!)

I don't know if it affects your score either. I kinda doubt it though, because I've heard of a lot of people opening it to check their starting position.

I've only used it once myself. I traded a copper resource for Stone so that I could build the Great Wall because the Barbs were kicking my butt on Noble. (Yes I know, I suck. ) And I also moved a hill from North of my starting postion to the south because it looked better there. :D But that game was way too easy because building the Great Wall that early gave me a bunch of GE's. So I don't do that anymore. I'm doing better on Noble now and it's been pretty fun.
