Screwed up files but reinstall fails???

Help, I have managed to screw up my Civ files. By accident, I managed to delete some files (I think they may have been music related files) from by Civ3 folder on my C drive--this was when I was in iTunes putting music onto my iPod!

Couple of days later, tried to boot up the game but it failed to launch. I (tried reinstalling, but still failed. Then tried first uninstalling and reinstalling, and still failed. Then (on advice) I went into RegEdit and removed all references to Civ3 from the registry, and reinstalled. Failed Yet again!

I have no idea how to cure this--other than by buying a new PC. Any cheaper advice much appreciated.

Is the disc scratched?

Disc is totally undamaged. I can only assume that somehow the past installations hgave left remnants that prevent a new installation.

YOu need to remove the Civ3 references from the InstallShield registry key.
