Seafaring and Treacherous Waters

It says Seafaring nations have less chance of losing Galleys etc when traversing water not within 1cm of the shore (sarcasm). Yet on every single occasion my Byzantine nation strayed just one square in the danger zone I lost the Dromon.

I've just tried to colonize a small island just one square from safety with at least six Dromons and I've lost every single one on that one square.

Is the less chance something like a fraction of a percent or something??

I guess my luck sucks. I had to restart as I pinned all my hopes on getting to that island with its Iron. Used all my gold rushing Settlers only to have them meet Davy Jones in his Locker...

Game was a dead loss anyway....

It is just bad luck I think. Although, I have to say that I have noticed that I do have more luck with Curraghs than Galleys. I don’t know why.

Maybe it is true because Curraghs can’t carry any units and Galleys and Dromons can so maybe they made the chances of the bigger boats less because it will be much easier to carry units to other landmasses.

Just my guess.
