Second Feb HOF Update!!!!!

The Civilization III Hall of Fame has been updated with a landmark group of submissions. Within the total games, every victory condition is accounted for, as is each mapsize and difficulty level! We also received submissions for the Japanese and Mongols, meaning that after 3+ years, all the AI have finally been played by humans and are in the HOF.

The first record of note is a submission by Smirk, who set an HOF fastest ever 20k win, finishing in 1300ad! Details about the game are posted here.

There was even more significant action in the Diplomatic arena. Ronald finished a 310ad win of this type, details here. This would have been the fastest ever Diplo win had it not been for SirPleb, who upended the date before the update with a 210ad UN vote! The master milker recounts his rare Fastest Finish game in this thread.

Congratulations also to EMan who set a fastest ever Domination victory in 1225bc! (Apologies as well for my not noticing before the update.)

I forgot to mention that with this update we're establishing cutoffs for submissions. In order to make the next update, you need to submit your game before the end of the month. Anything received after that will be in the second March update.

Wow very nice update!
Lots of nice games, some odd submissions too (huge mongol 20k, never expected that..)
EDIT Just noticed Eman also did faster domination ever no?
Why Persia?
The table are going to be filling up pretty fast...
Keep ip up (my lack of submission is mostly due to internet problems, but I have 2-3 stored game ready to submit...)
Seems ill have to do more Tiny chieftain to get back my title..
Btw Smirk tried most of your ideas (specifically, 3 scientific AIs + huts + not necesseraly coastal) and it works great. got a 1330 with no GL until theology (pyramids wasnt built until IA), with mapfinder running a bit more Im sure I can reach your 1300

I'll tell ya all a little secret..
Whenever there is a HoF update, the first thing I must do is to check it for anyone who may have passed me scorewise on tiny and small.
Now I have to start checking standard lower levels too..

No, all kidding aside, you're right. I got so wrapped up in checking the games for HOF standards I didn't have time to notice what these fine players pulled off. The submissions cut-off on future updates will leave me time to consult the classified feature and see where these games will place once I use the other classified feature.

Depends when I get around to start another game since i discarded my previous game due to paying gpt for an IA tech
May try out feudalism for next game... where I am not guaranteed a 1000AD or earlier win

Good luck with that Gyathaar. I did a little experiment with my recent 100K .sav (after submitting...) to compare The Republic and Feudalism. I was getting much less gpt for research under Feudalism due to 1g less per tile worked. This was partially offset by 0gpt unit support cost with the number of workers I had at a time. I think research will be quite a bit slower with Feudalism though. Of course, research rate is probably not as important when you can start pop-rushing that early in the game!

Was planning to go with celts, build ToA, and take feudalism as free tech from philosophy

Since I dont want education, the only techs I would want to research is the initial ones to get a SGL for pyramids and possibly for ToA too, so the lower research capability would not matter .. the rest can be traded for or popped from huts

Thanks, bed_head7, but my passion only goes so far. The unsung heros are really my staff. While her contributions are barely public, a space oddity's GOTM experience has been invaluable behind the scenes. The true savior of the Hall has been Dianthus. His technical wizardry has been more responsible for these updates than my free time spent checking games!
