Trickster Reincarnated
I have made a number of suggestions/requests about potential improvements to the site, not many of which have been officially responded to.
Since I thought of a few more today, I thought I would summarize them all in one thread and you can ignore/respond to them in your time.
Sultan's 14 Points for Improving The Site
*Note: I would pay 15.95 a year to have these features added to my account.
1. Self Banning - I want to be able to ban myself. For, like, a day at a time. Wake up, try and decide whether to write my dissertation or post all day, and in a moment of strong willpower, hit the "Ban yourself for 24 hours" button.
2. Banning Notification - people who are banned are like Chile's "the dissappeared" around here. Unless you catch the ban or someone tells you about it, you have no idea why the usually verbose have gone totally silent. I would love to see the admins replace the titles of banned posters with "Banned Until Such and Such Date" in the manner of the Permanently Banned title.
3. Checklist Unsubscribing- I mentioned this in another thread, I would love to be able to unsubscribe en masse with a checklist the same way I can delete my PMs.
4. Multiple PM lists- so I can have one PM list for each PBEM I am in, a PM list for "Alert the Leftists", a PM list for "What is Rodgers Talking About?" etc.
5. Off Topic Diversification- Great strides have been made by providing the sports, humor, and history forums, but off topic is still swamped with threads. I would love to see it divided into Current Events, Favorite Song Threads, Community/Members (like at Apolyton), and the all important Flaming, Trolling and Spamming Forum (post here all you want, doesn't effect post count).
6. Newbie Questions Forum- as I mentioned in the other thread with this name, making Newbie questions a forum instead of a thread would give the mods the power to keep the Civ3 general thread cleared of such. And the "farting bob" thread never would have happened.
7. Seperate PTW GOTM. Actually Cracker says the time for this is coming. I will add that I would love for there to be a "Challenge Forum" where attaching saved games to the actual posts is re-enabled and we could do whatever with the games.
8. Ability to attach your real photo to your profile. So we know what we look like. I know there is a thread
of member photos but it is often buried and updating seems sporadic.
9. Deity level members get discounts at the CFC store. Which means we need a CFC store where you can buy "Thunderfall" t shirts and at costs discs for those whose telephony modems won't let them download stuff fast enough (aka Gamespy).
10. More colors in the vB code. I typed in light green as a color and it gave me blue.
11. Of course by now I am just making stuff up to reach 14. And you have stopped reading.
12. Some of these threads are getting out of hand. How about deputizing more moderators?

13. In addition to archives, how about a CFC hall of fame where the most interesting/entertaining threads, past and present, show up.
14. How about a kind of league of nations where all nations gather to discuss ways to avert war/promote peace/trade etc.?
