Sending War Aid Event

I got the message that my Christian brothers were in need of aid for their war. There was a long list of options for various resources I could provide them. For some reason none of the options were available (green). I know I have the resources in excess, most of them. What's wrong here? I was forced to not send them aid...

I started the war that they're in (bribing a country to attack them) specifically so they would ask for my help and I could give it to them!

I also seen this event, and can't make any sense of it. Normally the greyed out options show why you can't select them in red on the mouseover.

My one theory is that the AI now sometimes reds out resources on your side of the table - indicating that they're utterly useless to them even if you want to give them away. Could it be that all the resources listed are currently redded out in this fashion? I didn't think to check at the time, but it doesn't seem that plausible anyway. There were at least a dozen options on the list, and all were greyed out.

I went into the diplomacy menu right after choosing my only option (basically 'too bad, so sad') and was able to give a lot of these resources to the AI that way.

Also, can any explain why the computer won't take my unit gifts? is it because it is broke? That seems ridiculous since it is in the process of building units (I can see it's production) that are much worse! 'don't build a frigate! take my destroyer!' so I don't understand that. I tried giving him 3000 gold but it dissapeared. What does an AI do to piss that kind of money away in one turn?

Talking about wars & suporting other civs, there should be some sort of mood modifier to ais you give em units at least on wartime. Like +1 or +2 most only aplicable when they are at war time and powerles compared to the attacker, or at least the "you refused to help us on war time" negative value to be cancelled if you help em on units to suport their war

I have saved millions of times some ais asses doing this, and is kind of weird they dont even recongise that
