Not sure how feasible either of these variants is but I am proposing them to see if people would be interested or thing they would be at all possible

----------------------------------
Variant Concept 1

Delusional Utopia

Noble
Raging Barbarians
Aggressive AI
Large Maze Map
Standard # of AIs for map size
The People of Delusional Utopia must not know how dangerous the world really is.
Military Units cannot be kept in cities.
Obviously militant/anti happy happy joy joy civics cannot be used either though I don't know what those would be off the top of my head.
The concept would be that military would have to be much more carefully used and strategically placed for territorial control. The maze map would definitely make this a more viable strategy.

----------------------------------
Variant Concept 2

Vegan Gaiians (live one with the planet, eradicate the filthy vermin humans that do not share our happy happy joy joy view)

Noble
Medium Pangea
Standard # of AIs for map size
No Clearing of Forest for any purposes whatsoever
Jungle can only be cleared to work a permitted resource
No Mines, Workshops, Lumbermills
Cottages, Windmills and Watermills are OK
No Working/Trading animal reources (no hurting the innocent little animals!)
No Working/Trading mineral resources (these are non renewable!)
No Nukes
Sugar, Bananas, Wheat, Rice, Dye, Paper, Wine (am I forgetting any plant based resources?) can be worked as long as forest does not need to be cleared to do so; they can also be traded.

Pillage Pillage Pillage Pillage Need to keep the vile humans from hurting momma so we need to pillage their mines, workshops and barbaric slaughterhouses wherever we find them.
----------------------------------

----------------------------------
Variant Concept 3

Logan's Run Meets Soylent Green (possibly the most whacky of the three)

Noble
Map type any but tilted axis which seems to make me crash
Standard # of AIs
Beeline for Slavery and Keep Slavery for the rest of the game
Work tiles for maximum city growth
The way we deal with overpopulation is through killing off the population to hurry production
The other civics should also match this concept of a controlling state and lack of self determination or personal choice.

Not sure about this one but it might lead to some other interesting ideas.
----------------------------------

Pardon any typos in advance.
Thanks

I like these!

I'm not familiar with the Maze maps. I'll need to check it out and give #1 a go on solo-play!

Though in #2, I'm pretty sure you have to clear the forest to harvest bananas, sugar, etc if there is a forest on the tile. I've not seen rice on a forest tile though.

#3 just sounds wicked cool. A bit like a CivIII variant I played where you could only run a Despot government.

I was thinking of a variant just a while ago in which you always automate your workers and never change the computer governor's picks for working tiles or specialists. Kind of a "decentralized government" approach. Very low micromanagement. :)
