SGOTM 08 - XTeam

I believe it's because we are still in State Property as Gator already pointed out (Good catch by Gator :goodjob:).

Glad I was able to actually contribute something of value. You all did a great job. This looks like another close finish.

Been doing some research on other teams.

Geezers - finished with a wonder score of 0.8333
OSS - finished with a wonder score of 1.1914 (they built all but 1 wonder!)
Real Ms. Beyond - retired

Gypsy Kings - @1060AD, they are well behind us. They're building Unis for Oxford (we completed it before 500AD) and their goal is domination by turn 300. Their break-even tech rate is ~400 bpt, while ours was ~600bpt at the same date. The only tech they have over us at this date is Constitution (they missed Pyramids) while we have over them Drama, Feudalism, Printing Press, Military Tradition, Gunpowder, and Astro. They haven't attacked Joao yet, but have spammed 7-8 more small cities on the continent and islands than we did.

CRC - @1535AD (T217) they are slightly behind us I think. They teched Assembly Line and Railroad early. They are currently 2 turns from MM, and appear to be following our same end game with Combustion included. They will have 4 more wonders than us (Pentagon, Rushmore, Mining Inc, and Creative Constructions). They are currently in the midst of a Golden Age that has 21 turns left on it. But it looks like they can finish before that. They have a final Prophet due in 11 turns that could build a shrine in 12 turns. They also have about 11 turns of research remaining at their current tech rate (with all cities building research). But they still have a lot of expensive wonders to build (Cristo, Rock, Broadway, Hollywood, UN, Wall Street, Red Cross) that will take hammers away from research. They would need to get victory in 12 turns or less to beat us.

Murky Waters - @1420AD (T202) they are ahead of us. They also teched Assembly Line and Railroad. They are planning to win by T220 with 4 more wonders than us, or they may go on to Plastics for 3 Gorges and Standard Ethanol Corp if they think it will give a better score.

Other teams are out of medal contention. So we are sitting on a Bronze with a very good chance at Silver. :goodjob:

Thanks for the overview :goodjob:

Good to know that a laurel seems almost certain. From your description it sounds like a very, very close race for the silver between us and CRC.

I understand that both Murky and CRC went for hammer based research in the late part of the game. Is this a standard strategy? I'm thinking that the new hammer to beakers (or gold) ratio of 1:1 is perhaps the most important change between BtS and the previous versions.

Well played X-team.

I'm trying to get an overview of what special events/missions the different teams got.
We at OSS popped a late game Gems in the Zulu lands and it seems CRC got Gold and Gems in the capital.
What does "Blessed Sea" do?

TDK

Get a free Great Prophet if you have cities on 10 different landmasses.

Dynamic has updated the CRC page to say that they plan to win with 4 wonders more than us in 13-15 turns. Recall that they need to win in 12 turns or fewer to beat us!

Thanks for the update. :goodjob:

Perhaps we should provide a little grease so they, ever so gently, slide on by? 13 more turns seems like it would be fine... :mischief:

214/54=3.96 turns per wonder

x 58 (4 more wonders)=229.85. So they must win in 12 from their current T217 save.

Hi MP and Mistfit. :wavey:
How are things? :)

Looks like CRC is planning to complete in 1595AD. They are at 1565 AD now. Dynamic posted again HERE.

I saw this - bad luck for us that they can manage to finish in T229. It seems there is still a small chance that they miss out on West Point because they need to trade for MilTrad :please::lol:

It's only 3rd place for us :(.

CRC has finished with a score of 1.2664 - slightly better than our 1.2617 .
:hmm: Darn Vassals, they shouldn't have been so cooperative...

Any way we can find some rounding error in this... :mischief:
In our favor, of course...

Lexad has a nice recap of CRC's gameplan in post #27.

Nice finish, guys. Sorry I missed it. Should be more available now....Mom's funeral was yesterday.
