Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri II

I love smac, but not enough to join facebook :p.
Well done, my thoughts exactly.

And you know what, let the sleeping dog lie - after my recent experience with Civ5 and (worse) Failout 3 I think I'd get heartbroken again by seeing yet another legend of PC gaming brutally raped in the name almighty dollar. That would be too much for me.

...One day in a distant future, where game-making tools will become cheap as dirt and all those corporate greedy bastards will finally die on cancer (the sooner the better, and yes I know how that sounds - I have no sympathy for them, same as I have no sympathy for the record label industry moguls) then some cybergod will take SMAC into its hands and recreate is anew, with love and care, not greed.

I'll stay and wait, perhaps I won't be dead before that happens if not I can still try to teach my kids how a brilliant game looks like and maybe they'll manage to play in SMACII

It dosen't matter what the name is. It all comes down to game play. If the game is good, who cares what the name is then. As Civilization:Call to power will tell you, it's not in the name but game play, and support afterwards.

Just look at Brian Reynolds, he made a new Civ type game and it did well and was alot of fun for alot of people. There was no "Sid Mier" anywhere in it and it did good. So it dosn't have to be called Alpha Centauri.

It just goes to show you that since EA and 2K can't work together to make this work, that means there is not really a market for it. Other wise and Indy developer would have made a game like it already.

If they madeAlpha Centauri II that would be amazing. Just a quick suggestion though, listen to your testers and make sure the game is ready first so I don't feel like an outcast for liking it ;)

I'm not at facebook, but I would love to see that happening.
