did not played for long time but remember that the silver price begin at 21 or more and after colecting 300 tone and selling them the price go down to 2 .any explanation ? when the price is low I find the silver miner on the dock and the best thing to do with them is 1 clear spciiality 2 give them horse and Musket
Blacksmith is almost imopsible to found when in depair I buy one in the Academy and trained some at the colege

If you sell enough of one item, the price drops. If you buy enough of one item the price is raised. The price of Silver never goes up, IIRC.

That's why I (almost) always play as Dutch.

If you find silver on the coast early in the game it gives you a great start, especially if you get a silver miner on the dock as you did. If it's not in a good location for a permanent colony just make a temporary 1 man colony and mine silver until the price drops too low, then disband it.

That gives you early money for horses to explore and muskets to raid the other Europeans before they get stockades.

I did the inverse build one Permanent colony on the cooast .
raid the spanish with my only Veteran soldier with horse and a piece of artilery made a raid on the defeat veteran soldier of the spanish who made a one man colony , he did not lost his Veteran status . now have 3 Temporary colony of one man mining Silver (one expert) and one expert in a permanent colony.

BTW to get an Expert Silver miner move one free Colonist to an incas City . this how I got the first one, and made a colony 2 square from this city mined there silver Deposit without paying .
they got mad and when the ask for 66 ton of silver for reparation . I give the 66 tone to them . and I trade
with the incasbuyin the silver 50 for 100 ton and selling trading good 800 for 100 ton and 10 ton of tool for the next time
