One of the pre made scenarios is in the midwest where you have to make steel in Pittsburgh and then "move 20 steel so the city can create a skyscraper", or something like that. I can't figure out what they are talking about . Making the steel is easy but what do I do next? I thought if i dropped it in Chicago that would work but nope.

Help is appreciated!

I don't know how exactly your map was working as the locations are random, but you must drop the steel into a village/town/city/metropolis that needs it. Looking over the XML, that would be for automobiles. If it does not give you a Steel Mill in Pittsburgh, you must build one there.

I hope you are enjoying the game. I'm part of another site called Bobby's Railroads: http://www.sidmeiersrailroads.net Come on over a visit us. We now have over 100 maps for this game.:crazyeye: plus, a lot of help if you want to make your own!

If I remember right, there should be a city on the map that demands steel but doesn't produce any goods out of it because it's used for the skyscraper.

Been a while since I played that map though.

Yup, just tested it out. Ran a track from a Coal Mine to Pittsburgh, then ran the track thru Columbus and force dropped the steel. It dumped the steel, but did not tally it on the Victory Conditions. I looked around and found that there was a Automobile Factory in Charleston. I ran a track down there and rerouted the train there. It dropped off 3 carloads of steel and they tallied up on the Victory Conditions.

So, while the map is great, the Scenario stinks in that respect.

Just deliver the steel to a city that calls for it, which is one that makes Automobiles, and all will be well.

I stand corrected.
