I play on a custom game with 18 Civs on a huge map and the longer I'm in the game, the longer it takes to end/start a new -turn.
In the ancient/classical era, everything runs smoothly but after that, it takes about 20 seconds to finish a turn.
Then there's the diplomacy screens from the AI, they are loading 20~60 seconds.
When I play a custom game with the same settings in the regular CIV4, I'm not experiencing any lag at all.
The Hannibal AI doens't build more then ~4 cities in teamplay-games but this could be due to bad starting positions. I don't know if anyone else has a 'weak' Hannibal AI.
The AI teammember(s) are too generous somethimes. In a game, I had 0 Coal and my teammember had 8 Coal, she gave me 7 of her Coal.
When 'Aggressive AI' is checked on, some AI Civs are asking me every ~3 turns to: Declare war on\Stop trading with ... or Convert to/Adopt ..., wich I mostly politely decline.
In a normal speed game, this situation every ~3 turns, would be unpleasant but it can be dealt with. But I play a marathon game and that is a lot of turns more so most of the AI's are annoyed towards me because I have -20 with 'You refused us to help us during war-time'.
Maybe this needs adjustment?
AI randomly joined forces. Let's say I'm on a continent with 2 other Civs. We all hate each other and suddenly, Civ A is declaring war on me. Civ B immediately declares war on me to.
Is this a bug because Civ B would never helped Civ A.
Does the AI like the saying: 'If two dogs fight over a bone...' or would they prefer: 'Your enemies' enemy is your friend.'?
I have noticed a lot of 4 vs 1 warfare in a 18 player free-for-all game.
Do I have to tell how fast my pc is? Well, let's just say I can run Oblivion on max setting without lag.
EDIT: I would like to add that, when playing in the modern era, the game becomes almost unplayable. Loading a turn is now taking at least 40 seconds. So 40 seconds a turn in a marathon game is...a lot of waiting.
