SMAC/SMACX on netbook (Dell mini 12)

Hi guys,

has anyone experiences with get SMAC to run on a netbook Dell Inspiron Mini 12 (Intel Atom Z530 @1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, GMA500 Graphic) under WinXP SP3. I've installed it, but it crashes back to desktop shortly after start.

Because I have no optical drive I'm emulating an ISO with Daemon-Tools.

The ISO thing isn't a problem.
Have you installed all of the official patches?

Hi, I am buying a netbook soon and wondered if it would work, so I googled it. One of the answers I found on a forum was this:

open alpha centauri.ini and change ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=0 to ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

Let me know if it works, because I also would like to know. I love Alpha Centauri and can't wait to see if it will play when I get my new netbook!

If not, well hopefully someone will figure something out.
