smacpack for linux

Hi!

Anyone playing smac or smacx on linux? I've just found my disk and installed it on both my desktop and laptop. The games runs perfectly on the desktop's Dapper Drake Ubuntu, while it crashes upon building first base on the laptop. The Laptop runs Edgy Eft Ubuntu, but that shouldn't matter, right?

Anyone know anything about this problem?

The Edgy Eft might be problematic with SMAC. Ask on Ubuntuforums.com.

Everything runs fine on Dapper for me, so I'm not changing to Edgy. Edgy seems too... edgy. (no pun intended )
Perhaps you could dual-boot Edgy/Dapper on the laptop?

Naah, I'll just go back to Dapper and test if it's edgy that's the problem.
