Small graphic glitch with arctic ice

In my last game as vikings i noticed a small graphic glitch on the arctic ice.
After some turns the ice became black.

I've had this one too. Incidentally the helicopter blades also turn black. Not sure what the trigger is but my specs are:

I've seen this as well after a few hours of play.

Opteron 148, 2GB RAM, GeForce 7800GS w/ 256MB AGP

The artic ice looks like it flips to a negative image of what it should be. Restarting clears it up again for a few hours.

I suspect it's simply running out of texture space on the video card. I'm running with detail turned way up and a huge/fractal map.

I also have seen the "black ice" and occasionally purple ice as well. Once I got black farms. When this happens the "glow" of the unit upgrade also changes color as do the longbowmen.

Yeah, upgrade glow turns green, and also the units turn black on one side.

Alt-tab often fixes it for me. Sometimes Alt-tabbing out 2 or 3 times fixes it when once won't. Quitting to the desktop and restarting seems to work all the time.

I've seen all kinds of things go black. Ships and some other units on occasion in vanilla for example.

I have an All-in-Wonder 2006 or something on a 2GB Athlon X2, and I run with detail and AA and the graphics in general maxed.

I wonder if anyone who has played the game in a window has seen this.
