I could be wrong but I think 11....Nd4 is looking dubious...aggressive play, that is certain.

I only know that this opening often results in draw without enough aggressiveness.

Kibitz...

What a shame I don't get time to play anymore! This is rather more fascinating than a normal Averbach, and more lively than the play I used to see when I played in this forum regulalry.

Still, despite my King's Gambit play against Khanh last year, I don't agree with liveliness for liveliness's sake - especially not in essentially a 'correspondence' context - and as I really don't see a long term plan for Black, I trust Smash will hold out.

But I'd be delighted to be proved wrong!

Hello.Good to see you are keeping an eye on things ;)

Yes it is too bad.You are proabably one of our better players here at CF(although you declined my challenge:p )

We have had a bunch of new players with the release of civ3.Some pretty good ones I might add.Games are getting tougher and tougher.....A lot more commited bunch also.Games are being played and FINISHED quite regularly :D

We shall see.I like my position now.But...black could end up with 1-3 pawns...perhaps.Julius at Apolyton has taught me(repeatedly) the difference between OTB and this modern postal format.Speculation is not so good in this format....

Very interesting! :yeah:
Not quite sure what exactly you´re talking about but one point is definitely correct!
The long term planning.
That is my weak point after all. But I have just played for fun so far, this is my first tournament ever!

well, because we are free to look at the position for as long we as we want, we are free to move the pieces around looking at different lines and we are free to research opening lines during play,it becomes a "if you can't see all the way, then don't play" type situation. It is basically postal chess where players should be at least several hundred points higher than their over the board ratings.
