So how do you play CIV V when your internet goes down

My net went down this morning but I thought thats ok I dont need steam/The Net as I installed via disks, wrong! I double clicked my Civ V icon on my desktop then it tried to open up steam but of course it could not as my net was down.

So Peeps how if this happends again in the future does one play without the net?

In the Steam window click 'Steam --> go offline'
