So today i started work on a Peloponnesian war mod

I loved the VP system in Civ3, one of the things I wish made it to Civ4 in some incarnation. It allows you to set marginal and total victory conditions: total victory is where you completely conquer the opposition's cities and wipe him off the map, while a marginal victory can be obtained by holding more VPs than your opponent at the end of the war (but both survive).

The balance between trading VPs, unit-kill VPs, and holding cities would be important. Not sure where we want that balance to lie.

I don't know if there's a way to make your allies' VPs count for you (I think they do if you are in a permanent alliance, but not if you are allied in a war)--but that would make competing for the Argives even more important. Maybe trading something with the Argives could boost relations to where they would accept a permanent alliance, and thus you get VPs in the process. Or a wonder you could build to boost relations with them to the point where they will accept a permanent alliance. If it were possible, it would be awesome to have all diplomatic relations affected by VPs (whether the world sees you as winning or losing the war as it happens).

I'm looking forward to hearing about the units. ;)

Well for the time being i faced a fatal error with my map, so i had to draw a new one. This time i did not draw it from naught, but used bmptobic and here is the result:

Greece is in fact larger in this one, and i think it has all areas that are needed. :)
