I was having hard lockups every 10-20 minutes. Had to powerdown the system.
I noticed that other people are having the same problem.
After numerous attempts at fixes, I made 3 changes. Not positive which one actually fixed it, but I'm guessing that it was #3.
1) Turned off Write Combining on the 6600gt
2) Using Coolbits 2.0 changed the Max Frames Rendered ahead to 1
3) Uninstalled PhantomDVD (it's one of the only virtual drive programs available for Win64)
No more lock ups. But I notice that the DVD drive spins up once in a while; it never used to do that. So I'm guessing that that's when it crashed.
It seems like a 'feature' of the copy protection scheme to lock up when it tried to scan a virtual drive.
In summary, try unmounting any virtual drives and see if that fixes it.
