Hi all.
I have during my problems with win2k and civ3, discovered a solution for those who have problems installing with "ikernel" not being able to be run or something.
In win2k, remember to update with the microsoft compatibility update. Then, create a shortcut to setup.exe, and set the mode to emulate win98 (or 95).
After that, run the shortcut.
The error should repeat.
However, now there would be c:\program files\common files\installshield\engine\6\ikernel.exe
or something of that like.
Now run that ikernel.exe from your harddisk, and double-click on the shortcut again.
The setup process should commence.
It worked for me, hoped it would work for you guys with this problem as well. Good Luck.
(ps, if it does work - if you actually have that problem - please drop me a line @ exar@hardwarezone.com . Thanks)
cheers.
