Some Suggestions regarding technology

I think leapfrogging in technologies should be implemented in the civilization games. It would make the game way more interesting since, one civilization which is behind in some field could leapfrog existing technology to an advanced one in the same field leaving the other civilizations behind it.
This can be done for technologies that lead to a single technology which leads to multiple technologies. Basis of this could be that the civ which is way behind in research can leave an outdated technology (outdated for the advanced civs) to research a newer technology directly which the advanced civs have less incentives to research because of the existing advantages they are receiving.

I prefer a sense of realism. Civ5 did a good job where science would diffuse with trade routes.

An idea I had, which I almost created a mod for, is to make weaponry into a tradable resource that can be produced by civilizations that have researched the required tech. This would be very close to how real life works. Units would then require the weaponry resource and not a technology.
