Sound and Screen shot?

[1] Sound: is there a way to control the volume?

For me the volume is too loud and since the speaker is the system speaker,
it isn't controlled by my sound card. (is it?)

[2] Screen: is there a way to get a screen shot?

I tried "Prt Scr" but this is a DOS window (full view) and that doesn't work.

If you're using actual DOS, you'll need to find TSR programs to handle both. Otherwise, DOSBox can take screenshots and will respect Windows volume controls.

How can I turn off the speaker using Device Manager in Windows XP?

Do it through Device Manager.

View Menu -> Show Hidden Devices

You'll see a lot of strange looking items appear. Disable "Beep".
