Speeding up Late Game Turns

I don't know if this is widely known, but i know that a lot of people, including myself, have a great distaste for the extremely long turns towards the end of the game. This is particularly true for games where you have well over 50 workers that are all automated, or if you have huge stacks that just cleared the west and now you need to move all of them east by using the 'go to' function. So here is the tip, and it might already be out there.

Hold down 'shift' and all of your units will speed allong their merry way, shortening your turns by minutes.

Hope this helps and isn't too redundant. I by mistake found this out when trying out some of the new functions i learned from a key-board map.

Pressing Caps Lock has the same effect as holding down Shift :)
 
You could also turn animate moves off in the preferences. You can turn them on/off for battles, moves and automatic moves of own-, friendly- and enemy units. I usually turn off animate later in the game when there are loads of units.
 
You can set the AI Patrol off so the AI does not randomly move units. Put
NoAIPatrol=1
in the .ini file.
