Do any of you guys ever get so emotionally invested, that you make moves to spite the enemy rather than destroy him? I remember in civ 4, it was so easy to sweep the land of all improvements, and destroying cottages really hurt. But in V, you really have to go all the way.

This is me, invading Istanbul. But not just invading...

They got nuked,
then had their territory sabotaged
then had their buildings sold
then had forts built on every tile they owned.

But not all the way, just enough to remove the improvement but not give them a defense bonus.

In short, they got to start over.

How do you guys manage your.... sour dispositions?

If murdering the lot is'nt enough settling a city on the worst possible location if the AI has'nt already done that itself, preferably inbetween several of my own city's so without open borders it's incapable of expanding, is my usual go-to, if I settle it myself I'll usually name it 'excrement'-hole or something that is'nt so likely to trigger the wordfilter.
Culture bomb it to a 3-1 tile city and watch them hurl insults at you and denounce you while smugly knowing they are only there because you allow them to.
Ofcourse the denouncements can be annoying but at that point the game has usually devolved into total war anyway and it's probably not as bad as the diplomacy hit for exterminating a civilization.

Wow you guys are wicked.

I thought that I was bad when I allowed each of the AI civs to have one city surrounded by ice.
