I did a search, but nothing turned up.

I got 150 of say, guns in town, and I want to load only 50 onto a ship or wagon. Can it be done? If so, how? I tried clicking with cntrl, shift and alt, etc. And if so, please tell how like you would an eight-year old. :) Thanks!

Thanks for the replies, but it seems I'm missing something obvious. That is to say, I'll roll a wagon or ship into town, click on the load button which brings up the menu to select what to load and it only lets me take as much as the transport can carry. No less even if I hold the shift button. What menu do I need up and where do I drag from? This game is very intuitive imo, but this little facet (which I don' anticipate using that much) seems to elude me. Thanks.

Update: The moment I wrote this, it hit me. I have to do it in the town menu (domestic advisor) duh! Amazing how dense I can be sometimes. Still, it would be nice to get that option with the load button without going into the town screens.

I believe you need to open up the city info screen. The different goods will be be on the bottom of the screen. Hold shift and click and drag the desired good into the wagon or ship of choice. That should bring up a small window where you choose the desired amount.

This took me a short while to figure this out as well - and I sometimes still forget to hold down the shift-button first which results in me loading all the stuff in to the wagon/ship... ;)

Is there a possibility to split the numbre of goods when you are trading with the indians?
I had yesterday the problem that I carried 300 weapons in my wagon and wanted to sell them in two indian citys (different tribes) and I didn't figure out how to trade only one stack of 150 weapons
Shift didn't work and I thought it would be like trading money, so you click on it and you can enter the ammount you want to trade.

As far as I know, you must trade full loads with the tribes.

Seems that way. The only other way would be to split on to two transports, but who wants to commit two to a job that should only need one? Seems like this would be an easy tweak in a patch.

There is a solution for coastal tribe settlements, if you have a galleon or merchantman
You load 3-5 goods and a waggon,
go with the ship to the settlement,
unload the waggon and after the goods, you can then decise which goods load in the waggon and which in the ship and then sell the load from the waggon or the ship distinctly.

What I do sometimes is load a wagon from the main screen, then go into the city screen and unload the units I don't want. The reason is then I can be sure which wagon I'm using.
