Hi,

I post short and if this is "new" I explain more... but in short has anyone happen to take the capital of a country and then split it into 2 and the new country got the same colour, example take Berlin form Germany and the breakout nation would be France?

it happened to me, can explain more as I said if this is new but I split Aztec to Aztec and Zulu.. then I took Zulu's new capital and they split again into Zulu and Babylonian... yes that is impossible, you cannot have 2 in the same game... the effect was that Zulu stayed but ALL their units got deleted... surely a bug..

I played Civ1 a milion of times but the first time this happens to me, when I won the game play doesn't show this.

thanks

EDIT: running version 474.04

Yes, it happens when you take out the capital.
The new Civ is the civ that shares the color of the original civ (Russians and Romans; French and Germans etc)... but the new civ gets another color after the split up.

This would be a lot more interesting with an accompanying MAP & SVE file.

I'm so happy you replied Dack since I know you are a master on civ files editor and such.

SVE file: http://john.bryntze.net/civsaves/CIVIL1.SVE
MAP file: http://john.bryntze.net/civsaves/CIVIL1.MAP

I never use autosave, and this save is most likely just before to win.
Bascially what happen is that I played Vikings and let the computer be big.. then I did a maove.. took EuropeAsiaAfrica... then I had carrier with 5 nuke and took capital.. split.. in same turn split again.. that is when it happened and same turn nuke and split again.
I guess Civ got a check if Zulu/Babylonioan, Aztec/Egypt, Greece/England is in play but maybe this check get bugged out if you split a nation 2-3 times during the same game turn?

hope you can read out something fun from the save

thanks

I think you missunderstand my post or me yours? I split countries maybe 100 times during all time I played but never have I splitted Zulu and the other parts becomes Babylonian, 2 green aactive in teh same time.. not possible! but it happened.. well the message said that, the real effect is that Zulu lost all it's troops.. I could go in his cities without a fight :) bug!

so in this case the new civ didn't got another colour!
