Naturally,I would prefer a Winawer.Smyslov and Botvinnik played this in their match of 1954.Staunton played it eons before them although his analysis came off of Sicilian line.
Capa is probably the most naturally gifted player ever.Too bad he was a little lazy.Too bad he played Alekhine His mini combos are legendary.
My favorite "Soviet" players are Keres and Tal.2 opposites.Both players were "held back" somewhat by the Soviet chess hierachy.Not Russian enough I guess.
Then you have probably read "White and black" written by Alexander Kotov (also a great chess player) - it is a biographic novel about Alekhine's life and about his matches. Wonderful story (but sad though)!
